SILAS

Synchronised Intense Light and Sound (SILAS)

Synchronised Intense Light and Sound (SILAS) systems combine light bars with acoustic stimuli to guide or deter multiple species within an environment.

Self-cleaning light bars minimise maintenance costs, while remote monitoring allows for real-time diagnostics.

Large or small-scale deployment

A SILAS system can be deployed on a small scale or adapted for use in large-scale projects. Some of the most common applications include power plants, irrigation facilities and pumping stations.

These cases often require control over multiple species, some of which may respond to sound alone and others, such as eels, which are insensitive to acoustic stimuli. The combination of light and sound enhances the effects of deterrence, keeping intakes clear and providing effective protection for fish.

Combining light and sound

As the name suggests, synchronisation of light and sound enables the creation of a fully bespoke solution for any environment.

High-intensity light bars are combined with Sound Projectors. Customers can then monitor performance remotely and control individual components, thanks to tailored software.

System Benefits

  • Deters a wide variety of fish species
  • Remote monitoring and real-time diagnostics
  • Improved efficiency through combined stimuli
  • Self-cleaning light bars reduce maintenance
  • Minimal environmental impact
